In my signature I have a link to the PSU tier thread. use it to pick out your PSU. Anything off Tier 1 or 2 is what is recommended.

It'll work. If you're getting an unlocked processor like the 6700K, make sure you buy a CPU cooler. Also, I'd get a better power supply. While the CX is technically good enough to work, it's a PSU meant for entry-level builds. @Comic_Sans_MS listed some better quality ones, and there's the PSU tier list if you want to try to find cheaper similar-quality PSUs.

It should work fine.

PSU is not good enough. Get an EVGA G2, GS, GS, B2, P2, Anything from Seasonic or XFX (Excluding the XT), Corsair RMi, RMx, HXi and AXi instead.

The PSU is more than good enough.  I have a r9 290 with it in an equivalent computer and it runs fine (r9 290 draws ~2x the power of 1070)

Get a CPU cooler and a better PSU. For the cooler I'd recommend a Corsair H110i GTX. For the PSU I'd recommend anything from Seasonic, SuperFlower or XFX (Excluding the XT series) or an EVGA G2/P2/T2.

Yes it has enough wattage but the quality of the inside components is poor.

The wattage is more than enough, just the model is not great (but not awful) and you can get better PSUs for the same amount of money.

I thought Corsair was supposed to be a good brand and CX series was simply non-modular

I wouldn't say the CX PSUs are poor (I've personally used one and it's still working just fine - there are far far worse PSUs out there), but it is more for entry-level builds.

The OP updated the post with a newer one, from the looks of it. Good pick.

It is but when talking PSU's you can't always shop by brand. The CX series are very low quality and you don't want to be pairing it with such high end parts. Check my edit to my previous post.

No, corsair PSUs of varying quality like all brands.

Corsair sells some garbage PSUs (VS), some okay PSUs (CS, CX), some good PSUs (RM) and some great PSUs (RMi/x, HXi, AXi, SF)
