Chromium browser malware

Go to solution Solved by PattyJ,

my pc was worse it somehow had got 167,174 malware on it but happier ending thanks to malwarebytes it's all fixed and running fine but i don't know about your issue

Hey there... I'm facing a really annoying and irritating issue on my freshly built computer. I've Windows firewall and defender active, My internet is fortiguard secured.

Still somehow the 'Chromium Browser' malware made it's way to my PC :(

After seeking some help on Microsoft community I uninstalled the program by stopping it from Task Manager and CCleaner,

The malware was gone but it's some part were/is still remaining in my PC (see Attachments).

It used to popup some cr@p every two/three days to make me install it again.

Again with MSFT Comm help, I removed all leftovers using 'Malwarebytes' and 'Revo uninstaller'.

It were gone for 10 days and today it's back T_T (it keeps on popping up and blocks everything I'm doing until I end task through tskmgr)

What to do about it... I hope Hard reset isn't the only solution!

Thanks!

Try researching for a specific anti malware specific for your malware. Often times you will find remolval tools for specific malware. Run malewarebytes full scan. If the issue still isn't fixed, you may need to back up indivdual files and do a fresh install of windows.

Well... Ran Malwarebytes full scan (again). It detected 14 items 7 were relating to the issue. I've removed them, have to wait for a few days to see if it happens again,

Do you actually have Yahoo search installed, as that is what is requesting an update.

Also, the Chromium browser is the open source variant of the google chrome browser and is most definitely not malware since it is also used as the base for several other browsers.

If you didn't install yahoo search, then it is likely to be the malicious object and shows how good the "protection" your ISP provides.

Nope, I don't have yahoo services.

I know Chromium is an actual browser, but on it's name there's a huge malware issue (according to google).

Yup it's really "Good" protection xD
