So, I switched to a relatively better router today, one that I had in storage to slightly increase the range of our WI-FI. I don't have a wireless network card, so I just plugged my Ethernet cord into the "new" router and to my machine. At first my machine was unable to recognize the IP of this "new" router, but after a bit of Windows Troubleshooting, all was well. That is, until I realized that after downloading several files, my internet was not as fast as usual. I opened up SpeedTest.net and checked my speed to find out that it was remaining at 5mbps at idle as opposed to the usual 40-50mbps. My only guess is that my problem stem from troubleshooting. The download speed is as per usual. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!!

Actually, I solved my own problem. In case this happens to anyone else, go to: Control Panel> Network and Internet> Network and Sharing Center> (on the left) Change Adapter Settings>Right Click your ethernet connection>Propterties>(third from the top) uncheck Killer Bandwidth Control.

Thats why I don't like killer. Horrible performance. Only intel and broadcom are brands that I trust. The only reason i trust broadcom is because I know employees on the inside.

My native language is C++
