Hey there,

so, i've got the Chance to get a GTX 1070 FE for 400€ (446USD) (the cheapest in Germany is a Gainward for 450€ (which is around 500USD)).

Should i go with it?

And those who say my CPU will bottleneck, yes it will, but i will upgrade to an i7 6700K next month.

 

Main PC: R7 3700X / Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro Wifi / Radeon RX 5700 XT / 32GB DDR4-3200 / 250GB & 2TB Crucial MX500 (in HP Prodesk 400 Case)

Laptop: R5 2500U / Radeon Vega 8 / 8GB DDR4-2400 / 500GB SK Hynix BC501 (HP Envy x360 13)

My little Server: i7-7700 / Asrock H110M-ITX / 24GB DDR4-2400 / Samsung 860 Pro 250GB & Seagate Firecuda 2TB / VMware ESXi 6.7

(Don't tell me i should Name them, i don't want to ^^)

Yes, if you cant wait a few months for the price to go down. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Yeah, buy the card, re-sell for the same price (or higher) and then get an aftermarket card once prices stabilize.

 

Don't stick with the FE permanently, though, blower cards are just not worth it.

How much more do you think the prices will stabilize? For example the ASUS STRIX is at $424 on newegg -> the MSRP is $399 for the 1070 -> Already some companies are selling their basic 1070's for that price (Gigabyte) . I dont think much is going to change to be honest.

 

I agree for the european market though...the prices are insane.
