Nah, it's simply bullshit people like to circlejerk all over the internet. The only real faulty Barracuda drive is the 3TB, the rest are more or less fine and rival most of WD's products.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Yes, the H55 has pre-applied thermal compound. One would only need additional compound if the unit was detached from the cpu after initial installation.

The build is pretty good. Although a motherboard would be useful.

I would suggest dropping the H55 cpu cooler. The cpu comes with a stock fan that will do a decent job.

Here is a pcpartpicker list of your build with a motherboard added.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($264.99 @ NCIX)

we are planning on this mobo http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-b150-gaming-m3-atx-33-120220.htm

and for h55 is it really that useful? we are mainly getting it because of looks and some performance

That motherboard is fine.

Personally I would not bother with the H55. That said, the H55 will do a better job cooling.
