First-time PC Build

After researching for over 3 months I think compatibility should be fine but posting here just to be safe. Main concern is the M.2 hard drive, does my motherboard and CPU have enough PCIE lanes to support both a GTX 1070 and a M.2 drive without bottlenecking.

The GPU will use all 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes from your CPU. The M.2 SSD will use 4 lanes from the chipset and will not affect your GPU. So your answer is yes!

Long time lurker, first time poster. Decided to build my very first computer after my 11 year old HP went and died on me. Here is what I have so far.

Secondly, is there any component where I could/should upgrade on? Note, I have already bought the CPU and as such am stuck with it.

Thank you!

I would add a WD Blue 1 TB or 2TB. Make sure you have sufficient airflow since the 950 PRO can get toasty.

Edit: I would also change the PSU to a 650W from EVGA or search for user STRMfrmXMN and take a look at his "PSU Whitelist".

Kudos on the prompt replies. I will definitely look into getting a power supply from the white list. Also, I already have a 4TB WD blue drive on standby as backup storage for all non-essential files.

As for the PCIe lanes, how many do I have available in total. If I were to one day go for an SLI configuration, would I be able to use all three components to their fullest?

The GPU's will likely go 8x/8x while the 950 PRO uses 4x meaning that your SSD will remain at full speed while the GPU's will barely get hit, if at all.
