Dual Graphics cards folding@home help

Hi community,

I recently started folding@home with my rig. but i have encountered a few issues with one of the graphics cards constantly failing work projects. My second graphics card is working fine with up to 70% already completed. Is there any way to fix that issue? screenshots attached.

thanks in advance.prtscrn 2.pngprt scrn1.png

Hi @another random person,

While it may be your GPU that's causing the failed WUs, we don't know if it is the GPUs fault, or if there is another system component (PSU or MB) that is contributing to the failed WUs.  So, let's start the process of identifying that it is in fact the GPU that is causing the failed WUs and work from there.

1.  What does the log tab look like for each failure on that particular gpu?  Does it give a reason or error code for the failure?

2.  Has the failing GPU successfully completed WU before, and it's just starting to fail now after days, weeks, months, years of success, or it has always had this problem?

3.  Has failing gpu successfully completed WUs when it was run as the only GPU plugged into your system?

4.  Has the other known good GPU successfully completed a WU in that slot on your MB with the PCIe connection from the PSU that was connected to the failing GPU?

5.  Has the failing gpu successfully completed WUs when it was powered by a different PCIe lead from your PSU?

6.  Has the failing gpu successfully completed WU when inserted into a different slot on your MB with the same known good PCIe lead from your PSU?

Cheers!

Hello @LemurWrangler

Thanks for helping, I have resolved the issue myself though. The cause was a bad AMD driver and after i updated the Driver it runs fine and utilises both graphics cards.

7. Any overclocks on either card?

Yes, I have overclocked both cards to a pretty high OC without voltage but as mentioned above i have solved it and now the overclocks speed up the Work units by up to 10%, Thanks for helping.
