hi guys

i just bought my brand spaaanking new pc with i7-6800k and a gtx 1080 founders edition on x99 itx board.

I have the noctuaa cooler with 2x 92mm fans on and Corsair 550W PSU.

So here's the problem. I'm new to the overclocking CPU. I know how to OC GPU but not CPU.

first in ASRock's A-Tuning software, i watched it going up to 4.2GHz

So after watching that i go in to bios and set the cpu ratio to 42 with BCLK @ 100.0 and CPU I/O voltage at 1.200V.

It successfully boots but when i stress test with Prime95 or AIDA64, the clock speed goes down to 3.4GHz...

Any idea why this is happening?

like 45C? it's not going up any higher than 48C

I know it's not the temperature that is the problem.

on CPU-Z it shows 4.2GHz on all cores, but as soon as i click start on aida64 or prime95

the clock speed goes down to 3.4ghz for some reasons
