Pay with one of their cash payments and source your own OS and this becomes a 6700HQ + 965M 4GB + 8260ac + 16GB RAM + 1TB HDD for $1007 USD. You can knock out the better wifi card or take 8GB of RAM and remain under the $1000 mark.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

Hey i saw your post and am interested. Do you now anything about this laptop?

it looked good to me at 0.55 inch height

but it also lists a range so i do not know what that means.

I'm actually not sure on which model this specifically is. But just so you know, if you're looking for power and thinness, it's probably not going to end well.
