Hey guys,
so i will be building a new pc but i will not have enough money for the gpu for a couple months and im thinking of just buying the pc without it and running on the i7 6700k's intergrated graphics. A PC will really help me with school and other stuff but i wanted to know if i could also get away with playing some very light games like CS GO or Dota2 or TF2 or if its going to be a shitty experience.
Thanks.

You'll be fine. I lived very well with the HD530 as my light gaming GPU, you'll be just as fine.

Remember to OC your RAM as well for increased performance.

what he means is get some ram that isnt 2133 or 2400, ddr4 3000 or 3200 will help the performance greatly.

and i agree, getting an amazing cpu now and saving for a good gpu later like a 470 or 480 is a great idea if you only realistically need the computer for school now.

I've tested the HD530 on my 6700k before. Played games like Tomb Raider 2013, The Division, WoW 25man Mythic raids, and so on. It did a very good job of all of these more demanding titles. smooth framerates across the board. Of course, that was them on lowest settings.... but you will have no issues playing much less demanding games on higher settings if you so desired.

I certainly support that plan of action.

Sort of. But, it is true. Also i feel linus should bench the igpu

yeah but in a channel that accomplishes fitting an i7 6700k and an 1080 on a fricking taperwear, i think it will be very anticlimactic to jump to intergrated graphics benching.

And even then, I wouldn't trust them anyways... Linus isn't exactly the most reliable source for benchmarks.

why are you suggesting that?

Because

Lack of titles would be the first point of concern. They also don't usually detail how things are done. Not to mention that they usually do things in a... how do I put it... non- optimal way.
