Hey guys,

I've been searching around for a list of motherboards that are currently compatible with the NVMe protocol.

Anyone know if a list like this exists? I'm going to be upgrading to a Intel 750 SSD and I need to make sure my motherboard actually supports it.

I took a look at my Mobo's online specifications and I didn't see anything about NVMe mentioned.

I'm using a GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming G1

Specs here: http://www.gigabyte.ie/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4963#ov

Thanks :)

If you're looking for NVMe support on a Z97 chipset, you will need to buy a PCIe adapter card. Z97 natively does not support it.

Pretty much all major manufacturers released BIOS update for NVMe shortly after Intel 750 released

Including Gigabyte: http://www.gigabyte.com/press-center/news-page.aspx?nid=1358

Although I would suggest you look into Samsung 950Pro as it's ever so slightly faster at more reasonable queue depths consumes less power and is usually significantly cheaper

Thanks for the suggestion, however it doesn't look like my Motherboard even has an M.2 slot.
