Button google cardboard

Today i bought a google cardboard alternative that has a magnetic button on the side just like the original from google. But when i try to use the button it doesnt work. The thing does not have a qr code i can scan and when i use an app to see if the sensors are working the magnetic field changes when i slide the button down. Does anyone have a solution?
