SP versus AF?

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

SP stands for "static pressure," which is great for situations where the fan will be next to a radiator, a filter, or just a tight space altogether, whereas AF("air flow") is designed for situations where there's nothing blocking airflow, although between my Corsair AF fans and my Noctua NF-A14, I found a few degrees of a difference with my Kraken x60.

I was looking at Corsair fans and I found two different type of fans, SP fans and AF fans. I noticed the fins looked different on the two models so I assumed they are used for different things. I'm planning on replacing the fans currently in the front of my case with some Corsair ones. I was looking at these ones and/or these ones. I have a few questions, what's the difference in between SP and AF and of the two types of fans I have linked, is either one better than the other?

It depends on what your gonna be using the SP or AF fans for, AF is for high air flow with no restrictions like a cooler or hard drive cage in front of it.

SP fans are usually used for scenarios where the fan is in front of a cooler/ hard drive cage to push the air.
