Cpu is not workimg please help

Please help, I am building my first pc today but my cpu is not working. Is there some way I can fix this??? Please help!

There are some led indicators on my motherboard (msi bazooka plus) and the cpu led dont turns on. The cpu that i am using is a I5-6500 my psu is a corsair mx 550m

Did you plug in the CPU power connector?

Did you handle your CPU without grounding yourself? (touching a large piece of metal or while using a grounding strap)

Nope i was grounded all the time

I pluged in the 8 pin connector that belongs to the cpu

Reseat your CPU (take it out put it back in) if this doesn't work, move on to reseating ram and all power connectors to the board.

Would it be possible to take a few pictures? Among theese: the connectors, the cpu, the cpu power led (when trying to power on) and such would be great.

Were there any bent pins in the CPU socket before you installed the CPU?

I hate to say this, but either your CPU or your motherboard is damaged. OR for some reason your PSU is damaged and can't provide the correct amount of power.

What you should do is, first try a different PSU. if nothing happens, try to borrow a different CPU that will work with your board, or take your CPU to a friend with a compatible board and test it in there. At this point you will know which thing is broken by what turns on and what doesn't.
