Quick Question - Internet Protocols

Guest

How many versions are there of internet protocols? I know there is IPv4 and IPv6, but is that just it then? Are those the main two or are there more?

Is IPv4 the first and IPv6 the second? It seems like there are only two of them

There are IPv4 and IPv6 of course but even things like WiFi are considered their own protocol. Then of course you have all the different routing protocols as well which get traffic from point a to point b and those can be anything from static routing all the way up to complex protocols like BGP-MP (Multi-Protocol Border Gateway Protocol)
