What's up guys,

I'm planning on buying a camera off of Craiglist. The seller needs to get rid of quick(see email) and suggested we use Amazon Payments. I have never heard of the service before and was wondering if it has "scammer" protection and I could get my money back if it is. The camera is usually priced at $2500 new without the lense, but it has 9,500 shutters and is priced at $1500. Should I go for it?

Sounds too good to be true, best is if you can test the camera first.

He's selling a lot of items(jetski, boat, bike, camper), I figured that him or his wife would let me try it out before I give him the cash though. Any inspections that you suggest I do?

Cash wouldn't provide any more protection than a digital payment would.  If the deal on the camera is too good to be true, it probably is.

Do you know amazon payments return policy?

I do not.  I'm not sure if any online payment processor offers protection on in person deals.
All you can do is ask if it can be tested prior to purchase.  I did this when I was buying my video card and the seller actually removed his video card from his personal PC to test this HD 6870 for me so I could see it working.  It's only a 40 dollar video card and required the seller to go far beyond simply saying sure I'll make sure the battery is charged when you get here.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.
