Budget gaming build $550USD

Building a budget rig. No clue what to throw in there since I've never built a budget rig before. Going to be used for gaming primarily and a bit of office work. Whats the best that could be done?

Yeah, if you want to chew through 60% of tour budget in a heartbeat.

Are you opposed to used parts or does this need to be a 100% new rig? the latter makes this MUCH harder i should note.

RX 480s are 250 quid. That's less than 40% of his budget.

The $200 cards are not available in many areas still. in any case you still have t build a system around that card, and its going to be very difficult with only around $270 USD. Good card dont get me wrong, but its not practical for a $550 build.

Shit, wrong thread xD - still, remember seeing a 200$ 4Gb one a few days ago. And it's worth :)

220$ for the 480, 150$ for an i3, 50$ for a board, 30$ for the RAM, 50$ for the PSU, 50$ for the HDD and 20$ for the case. It's doable.

i have a build here i made for someone else on the forum yesterday and to me, it seems like one of the best pc's you can buy new for that price point. If you dont mind waiting til the rx 470 launch this will be exactly $550 (all newegg prices), otherwise it has a 380x inside it.

i design all my builds with upgradibility in mind. the only thing that is needed to upgrade in the near future is the cpu and cooler. awhile yours would need a full face lift. if he wants a pc that he only has to build once and forget then your idea is great though!

Still unable to get it for $200 anywhere by me. They're out of stock.

This is a good build. I had something similar set up yesterday, but this has a better case.

This is damned good. I'll probably pick up the processor at Micro center since its the same price and theres one close by. How reliable are SuperBiiz and Outlet PC? I always see them show up, but dont know if anyone actually buys anything from them.

superbiiz is fine, so is outlet pc, you just got to be wary that they charge a lot for shipping. got a 100r for $34.99 with an added $20 shipping. not worth buying from them since the 100r at that time was $49.99 at newegg... yeah
