Help with my uprage

Hello kind folks of LTT community.

 

First I would like to apologize for any grammar mistakes since English is far away from my mother language.

 Okay, to bussines:

 

I have a fairly old pc that I want to upgrade. I don't have the money to upgrade it all at once or simply build a new pc, I want to take it slow (for example: first the graphics card, then the PSU, CPU, etc..)

Could you please help me decide what to upgrade to and in what order if it's even worth upgrading it.

 

MY CURRENT PC SPECIFICATIONS:

 

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z77M-D3H

 

CPU:  i5 3550 3.30 GHz to 3.70 GHz

 

GPU: Nvidia GTX 440 1023 MB

 

RAM: 2x4GB HyperX Savage (so 8GB total)

 

PSU: LC power 420 W

 

If you want to know anything else just say so and you'll find out.

I would upgrade the psu before anything, then a new gpu, and then if you are looking for something an ssd can improve overall performance.

8gb is fine, that psu is a fire hazard.

Yeah the PSU upgrade is inavitable. Any suggestions? Do keep in mind that I'm from Europe and might not have acces to some stuff. Thank you for your help guys tho :)

1st off replace the PSU, it is generic garbage. I'd replace it with an EVGA G2, B2, GS, GQ, P2, Anything from Seasonic and XFX (exlcuding the XT) Corsair RMi, RMx, HX, HXi, AX, AXi

Then replace the GPU with something like a R9 380 4GB, you could probably get a RX 480 in there if you want to though.

The CPU and RAM is fine ATM.
