Laptop for school and light editing - help me decide!

Hey!

I'm starting college soon and need a new laptop. I was set on getting a macbook as I've never owned one and have only heard good things.

Then HP came out with their new laptops and now I just can't decide. Also, Apple will release new ones in October apparently and I need it before then (is it worth spending that much money on a laptop which is soon to be outdated?).

The laptop is to be used for schoolwork, as said; video editing (very light) and gaming (very, very light. Imagine Wow level).

These are the two I'm thinking off:

The HP is only 100$ more expensive since I have a discount on their store.

Thanks for your help!

I would highly recommend buying a 15.6 inch laptop for college. 13.3 inches is smal, so I would suggest the $1399 Dell xps 15. It has I7 6700HQ, 256Gb SSD, FullHD IPS Infinity edge display, 8Gb of ram and a Nvidia GTX 960M. Linus also did a review on it altough his unit was the $1699 version.

I5 4470     -     Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo    -    Asus Strix GTX960    -    12Gb ram    -    Adata SP600 128Gb    -    Seagate 2Tb    -    AsRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer    -    Seasonic M12II EVO 520

IN WIN 703    -     Dell P2414H    -    LG Flatron M197WDP    -    CMSTORM Quickfire XT with MX blue's    -    Logitech  G502

Those laptops feature ULV CPUs meaning that they are TDP-locked to 15W. WoW will run like absolute horse shit as soon as you have a few characters on screen. If going for those, get the Spectre - it's a better keyboard and sexier design but gaming is out of the question, and so is video editing mostly.
