Avast Antivirus Boot Problem

Hello,

Earlier today, I installed Avast Free Antivirus.

I accepted the promote for the "Premium Membership" Trial.

After updating the antivirus definitions, I was asked to reboot the system.

After rebooting, the computer is stuck in a blue screen with spinning dots.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Rig: Intel Core i5 6400, EVGA Geforce GTX 980Ti Hybrid, Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 8GB, Samsung M.2 256GB M.2 SSD.

Do you have any relevant information in the blue screen?

When I press ctrl + alt + delete a screen shows with power options.

That's it.

Is there any way you can take a photo of the display with this blue screen?

Try booting into Safe Mode and remove the antivirus software, and then attempt to do a normal boot.

Use step four from this article:

I tried both F8 and Shift+F8, Nothing worked.

Tried both from power off + power on and restart.

Finally I got into safe mode (long pressing the reset switch),

I uninstalled the antivirus program and still it doesn't boot.

I think that the control center uninstallation didn't completely remove it.

The Control Panel doesn't handle the uninstalls. It only initializes the uninstaller for the respective application.

I almost wonder if you experienced an issue with false positives, and that's why it's not booting properly. Avast may have detected system files as malware.

Finally I solved the problem.

I used the recovery tool to restore Windows to the nearest restore point (Yesterday).

I have an anti-malware tool, and I checked the PC yesterday, so probably the Avast uninstallation tool didn't remove registry keys...

Anyway, thank you very much!
