Hey guys, I'm really new with building pc and I've spent few weeks to find out the new release part to compare with my budget ( 700-800 pound ). Finally, I came down with this build list. For me, editing video is the highest purpose and gaming is just second. Apparently, my macbook can't do what I want it to do anymore so I need to move on. So, here are the components that I choose, tell me what you think :)

ASUS GTX 970 -> This is okay and affordable for me ( I'm planning to buy it used )

Corsair H60 CPU COOLER

ASUS Z170-A -> I want to update in the future when working in the uni to save up to the GTX 1070

Intel core i5 - 6600k

hyper x fury 16gb ddr4

wd sata 1tb

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB

Corsair CP-9020098-UK VS Series VS650

I'm actually don't know much about specs and number and why this brand is better than the other. I chose Asus because they have the easy components management for your purpose and it has more buttons than the others. Some of the parts I will try to bid them on Ebay but the motherboard and intel core i5 to save up money. If you guys have any advice, please tell me. Thank you :)

If you are planning on doing any type of video editing, I would prioritize the processor over the GPU. Go for an i7, and maybe save a bit of money by getting a non-k version. You'll lose the ability to overclock, but gain the 4 extra threads, which will greatly help your render times.

You might also be able to save some money by going with an air cooler instead of a water cooler. Double so if you go with a non-k variant, since you probably won't need the extra cooling performance if you aren't overclocking.

I also see you don't have a case and OS budgeted for. Depending on what you go with, that could set you back another 40-60 USD (Don't know the conversion)

Don't get a Corsair VS power supply, get a grey label CX unit.

How much is the 970?

120mm AIOs (like the H60) aren't worth it, get a beefy air cooler.

I'm bidding the GTX here on Ebay and it might be end up at 190 pound. My plan is to upgrade the parts in the future when I make enough money, so do you have any suggestion?

A tad over the 700-800 £ budget you set, but then you're done for a while, instead of spending two hundred on card that you want to replace again anyway.

Please don't get a Corsair VS series, they are poor quality.
