Constant flickering on new 4k monitor

Hi everyone

 

I just received my Samsung 24UE850 and when I game I get really bad flickering. It's like my screen is going off and back on very rapidly. It seems to be worst when moving the camera around or moving the character.

 

I'm running it with a 290x, using my standard (stable) OC of 1150/1450, over displayport 1.2.

 

It isn't a Freesync issue, as the problem persists with it turned off.

 

Not sure what else to do?

Does it only happen when in game? Tried another dp cable/ pc?

Only happens in game - using the same DP cable I've been using for ages.

Done a bit more playing about - the monitor doesn't seem to like me ocing my GPU, but I don't understand how that can impact on a display?

Thats incredibly weird. Worst come to worst, you could do a RMA, but it wont be very convenient. Seems like an aspect of freesync is enabled even when you disable it, because that the only way the flickering could happen only in game and not in windows.
