So, I just got a new monitor. The LG 29UC97C. And I noticed this weird issue at random when having the Steam download page open in one window and facebook in another window. There seems to be some weird kinda white lines in blues, when I have the Steam download page open, and ONLY the Steam download page seems to be causing it so far. It also only happens when the Steam disk usage graph reaches a certain height and length. If i cover the graph with another window, it dissapears. It doesn't appear until the graph reaches the desired length and height either.

There also seems to be some VERY minor flickering on the other open window when I move the Steam window up and down etc., and the flickering seems to be happening regardless of color. With the lines I mentioned earlier showing up as I move the Steam window, but dissapearing when I stop moving it.

Should also mention that I also just got a MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X.

Could this be a driver issue? I have tried different Nvidia drivers, but they all had the same issue. I have tried to connect the monitor with a HDMI cable instead of a DP cable, same issue there. My Asus VS24AH does not have this issue when connected via DVI-D

Steam app window is dark and your wallpaper is bright-ish. Try simply opening mspaint, make a black picture (or Steam color if you wish) and do the same dragging around. See how your monitor reacts then.

Alternatively try using solid background and different brightness mspaint or other dark window. See if you can replicate.

If above makes sense and works - could be GPU or monitor. if GPU - try taking it out and test on iGPU. If monitor - try other monitor.

I have already tried a different monitor. No issue there. The flickering happens in other places than the wallpaper, but only when I have the Steam download page with the disk usage graph open and move that window. I have tried to replicate the issue with other pictures, websites etc. And none of them cause it, only

the steam disk usage graph.

It also only happens when the graph reaches a very specific length and height. I can let the graph start moving to the left and see when the issue starts as it moves past the required point.

You using something like digital contrast cos that tends to increase brightness up and down a lot you draging dark window all over the screen is causing brightness to go up and down rapidly, maybe shouldn't use digital contrast feature, as it usually gives issues like this.

Not that I know of
