Hi, this is my first time posting here, i'm writing about building my on pc and am here for some confirmation. I currently have the original Alienware x51 or, as i believe it is now known, the x51 r1, it is an entirely un-upgradable machine, you can fit other graphics cards inside as i have seen videos of others do, but its main hindrance is that it only supports a 330 watt external power supply, i could just swap the pieces into a new case and all but i know nothing concerning motherboard and power supply compatibility.  The only things i feel i would want to transition to my new pc are my cpu, an i7-2600, and my hard drive that is 1 tb.  My budget is around 800 dollars and i have picked everything out, i just want to know that everything is compatible and i would appreciate any help clarifying or pointing me in the direction of other parts that would be a good replacement.

Motherboard:  GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

The motherboard is the hardest part for me to understand, if someone could tell me if my power supply is compatible with this board i would appreciate it greatly, also if there are any suggestions for a better one at a similar price around $210 i will definitely look into them.
Power Supply: EVGA 100-B1-0700-K1 700W SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply $65Ram:

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-8GVR $40

I now understand DDR3 and 4,somewhat, thanks to a NCIX tech tips video, so i believe this ram is suitable, if not, again just let me know.

I also dont know how to tell if a motherboard supports certain graphics cards or all of them, is it just limited by the space in the pc and not the motherboard? Also i looked into graphics cards a lot and since the 1060 is quite low priced for its capabilities i went with it.
CPU Fan:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2) $30
My only worry with this is it being too big, i would also rather not do a water cooler in case people recommend them, i would consider replacing mine with one later but i definitely don't know enough about them, if i have no other option then a water/liquid cooler though then i will of course switch

Computer Case:
NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower USB 3.0 Gaming Case - Red $97
I really love how this case looks so im dead set on this one, i'm also not planning on buying a new monitor or any mice or keyboards so why not splurge here(because i was looking at cases priced at like 30-50 originally)
And i'm getting this thermal paste for the cpu fan - Arctic Silver 5 AS5-3.5G Thermal Paste $7.50
I will not be getting a ssd yet but plan to in the future, and im also looking at some fans to add

Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Blue LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators $9

I'm buying windows 7 too so thats why there is the gap in price and budget, also i'm getting windows 7 over 10 because i have it on my x51 and the only perk of having it was getting to play gigantic, there's way too many problems from windows 10, i may upgrade in a few years.  I found windows 7 on a site called softwareking for $75.  I believe i got everything here, if i'm missing anything please let me know and if you have any opinions on the brands of the parts i picked please let me know about that as well, thank you for your time :D

The thermal paste remover is not needed, I (and I learn this from TechQuickie) recommend some toilet paper and water.

Are you sure you can use toilet paper, isnt it bad to use because of lint, and water getting into the motherboard would ruin it wouldnt it, i'm a curious newb so if im totally wrong feel free to point it out

LGA 1155 is the socket your CPU fits in, and has been discontiuned by Intel, even though the CPUs in this generation are still great.

Just here to make a few tweaks on @RealBuizel10's parts list. Hope I'm not too late.

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  (Purchased For $0.00)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($29.99 @ Newegg)

^This comes with a thermal paste already and you're not overclocking so you don't need an arctic silver.

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (Open box) @ Newegg ($123.99)

^It's an open box unit, also a bit more expensive but it's better getting it on newegg vs a mobo on ebay that's shipped from China that takes a few weeks. And don't worry, this  works with all the parts in your system.
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($32.98 @ Newegg)

^It's a 1x8GB stick so you can add another one for 16GB
Storage: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($64.99 @ Newegg)

^This is one of the best entry-level SSDs for the price.
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For $0.00)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING Video Card  ($284.98 @ Newegg)

^This is the one you chose initially but maybe look for other 1060's that are $250-270. Look on Amazon/Newegg/PCpartpicker
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Red) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($90.98 @ Newegg)

^This is a better PSU for the price. Would highly recommend this over the EVGA NEX
Case Fan: Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC-GP 69.0 CFM  120mm Fan  ($3.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $721.89

All parts are from Newegg so shipping is more convenient and cost efficient.

Windows 7 Pro OEM: $25 @ Kinguin.nethttps://youtu.be/yXTqz3Fd28M

Don't go with the toilet paper. You're right with it leaving pieces of lint, use cloth(preferably micro fiber) and isopropyl alcohol.

Also here's an alternative cheaper motherboard from Amazon for $70(used): ASUS P8Q77-M/CSM

The trade off with it is that it's a smaller mATX and it's blue w/c ruins the red color scheme. Just giving you more options but would ultimately recommend the Asrock Z77.

Notice he still made use of microfiber cloth to make sure it's all clean. Avoiding toilet paper in the first place would save you the job of cleaning the fibers left behind.
