Hi everybody,

I've just bought a laptop (ASUS R556L) with an Intel i7 5500U and an Nvidia GeForce920M. I use it for studies and for gaming, but the problem is.... that he only have 4Go of RAM :/

The ram is actually with the motherboard and i've got only 1 slot for additionnal ram. I've got an other laptop with 4go ddr3 which i take out to put them in my ASUS. But when i start it, it show that i still got 4go of ram :(

I don't know how ram is working so i put in the attached files 2 screenshots of CPU-Z of the ram of my ASUS and my old computer.

How do i know the type of ram i need please ? i'm a little noob in computer

PS: sorry if i doesn't write english well 9_9

Probably wrong type. I had the same thing happen, might be using DDR3 in a DDR3L laptop.

After some research and calling ASUS, i found that i needed  DDR3L 1600 MHz SDRAM :) you were right about DDR3L, thanks :)
