So, this is a question that won't really matter for many years, until I have stupid amounts of extra money too risk on a fried cpu/mobo. But, given the ability to keep the CPU extremely cool, what kind of overclocks would an Extreme core Intel CPU be able to get? Like, given the ability to keep up with the heat of crazy voltages/heat could the 6950x get up to 4.7/5.0 ghz?

I'm not too sure on how high the overclock can get, but as you apply more voltage more heat is produced. This effect increases electrical resistance in the CPU, and cooling it down decreases, which is why LN2 is popular for OC competitions. The only issue I can see with this kind of cooling would be condensation and startup time.

Using liquid nitrogen someone reached 5.7 GHz. So yeah it might be possible. But I guarantee you it will not be practical nor financially justifiable in virtually any case.

To RGB, or not to RGB? That is the question.
