What is "pd"? Or is it supposed to be CD?

 

Check to make sure the power and data cables for the optical drive, are properly connected and the SATA port is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI. Try a different SATA cable.

 

I doubt that it's an actual driver issue. Windows usually has no problem with the optical drive drivers it has built in.
