First ever desktop build

Cakefish

Hey all,

I've only ever had laptops for gaming before now but seeing as I'm not a uni student  anymore portability is no longer as important, so I'm going to go desktop.

I currently have a rough picture of what I want in my build. Would appreciate any comments or advice on whether this is a good combination of parts (I'm in UK btw):

- CPU: Intel i7-6700K

- Motherboard: MSI Z170A Skylake Gaming M5

- CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X

- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 2400MHz

- GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080

- Storage: Already have 2x M.2 SSDs and 2x SATA SSDs that I'll transfer from my laptop

- WiFi card: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900

- OS: Windows 10 64bit

- PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX750

- Case: NZXT S340

Is this a decent build?

Also, I'm wondering what to do in terms of monitor. I need a fairly large monitor as I'll be wall mounting it and using it whilst sitting on my bed (as my room lacks space for a desk). So at least 27" but preferably 32". Any recommendations? 4K not necessary.

Cheers :)

Looks great. Only thing I would change is that psu. Swap it out with a EVGA g2/pt/t2 and you will be good to go.

You could save some money and get the i5-6600k, it is powerful enough to run AAA games and its a great CPU. you wont need an i7 unless you are planning to edit video or do 3d programming or something.

- SSUPD Meshlicous - Z170I - i7-6700K - Gigabyte 2080 - 16GB Corsair Vengance - 850 EVO 1TB - H115i ICUE Link- SF600
