PHP., if you are not well known with coding, PHP is the easiest web coding to learn

HTML and CSS are use for the content and design, PHP and SQL are used for the web 'applications' (like a members system, transaction, etc) and for database.

PHP is easy to learn and easy to use, you can go a long way with it alone.

codecademy is defiantly the best way to learn its great for beginners

Basic (you should really know these): HTML, CSS

Intermediate (for more dynamic pages and websites): PHP, SQL, Javascript, Ajax (is this still used?)

Advanced: Django web framework, GWT (for browser applications), etc.

Code Avengers is another good one, mainly for beginners.
