Question about migrating Windows 10

Hello, I was wandering If I can migrate my windows 10 (free upgrade from 8.1) from my laptop (came pre-installed with 8.0, then upgraded to 8.1 and then 10) to a new build that im doing.

You could. BACK UP YOUR STUFF FIRST, just in-case. It will take about 2-3 hours, if you have programs and other stuff. I would say you are better off doing a clean install and then installing everything again. I upgraded to windows 10 and all my programs where freekinig out as they where installed on 7. This was a year ago though so your experice might be different.TIME:

clean install = 30-40 mins ; copying files etc. 1 hour+ ; installing programes = 30 mins - 1 hour +

upgrade = 30 mins - 3 hours +

Nope, you can't.

The key is tied to the motherboard if it's OEM.
