OK this is going to sound weird but I was wondering if it would be less stressful for my laptop( specs will be down below) to build a steambox(specs below) then buy a elgato HD capture card and make it think the steam box is like an Xbox. Now if my thought process is correct, which it usually is not, would it be easier on the pc??? I do not really know how a capture card works but if you have insight post down below I'm considering trying this as i need a better alternative...

Yes and no. But first thing's first, if you want anything worth recording, get a new laptop.

Your laptop doesn't fit the minimum requirements for the Elgato capture card right?

System Requirements
  • Mac: OS X 10.7 or later, 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
  • PC: Windows 7 or later, 2.0 GHz dual core CPU, sound card
  • 4 GB RAM, built-in USB 2.0 port

Does anyone even use PCIe SSDs?
