Question about thread tags.

Do they even do anything? I haven't been able to find anything on this forum related to "search by tags" or something around that. Why is the option to add tags a thing? Wouldn't you click on a thread regardless?

it refines search terms and it's really helpful if you need to look back at certain posts, i add tags in tech news i make including my name to it, but most people usually tag topics incorrectly thereby giving a very scrambled result most of the times very unrelated when searched using tags

So you are able to search via tags. How does one do that exactly?

Check out this thread of mine, the tags usually at the top is clickable , for example you can click the "1080" & it'll take you to a list of pages that got the 1080 tags usually & if not found it goes to text phrase if i'm not mistaken,
