Bottleneck for 1060?

I currently have an AMD A6-7400K at 3.5GHz 2 cores.  Im not using the integrated CPU because I have a Radeon HD7850.

I am getting a GTX 1060 soon and I was wondering if my CPU would be a bottleneck.  I want to note that I have windows 10 so bottlenecks could slightly lessen because of DX12.

My mobo is an ASUS A58M-E,   So I am restricted to an FM2+.  I would like to note that I only have a 4pin cpu port on my board.

I have done some research and narrowed it down to a few CPUs, but I am still not sure which has the lowest bottleneck (hopefully if any).

I have checked all of the fm2+ proccessors that do not have integrated graphics (because why would I pay more for something that would be disabled) and eliminated alot of them because the stats are less than or equal my current a6-7400k.  I made a spreadsheet and narrowed it down to 4 different CPUs.  (Link to Spreadsheet)

yes, i'm informing you that you'll want a new CPU and motherboard very very soon.

Depends on the game but I would OC the chip to reduce the CPU bottleneck if I was you!

dude...your CPU is an AMD dual-core and it's performance is horrible...the game won't even launch on that.

Nothing wrong with an overclocked Athlon X4 860K, although you'd probably be better suited saving up to get an H110M+i3-6100 combo instead. The Athlon is only viable these days because it can be overclocked to 4.2GHz+.

Most modern games are bottlenecked by anything less than an i7. An AMD dual core is going to get rekt.

watchdogs 2 is the newest game to come out from ubisoft studios...it supposed to launch at fall 2016..and it will not run on a dual core that's a given...let alone an old ass AMD dual core APU...the first installment of watchdogs was terrible and as you can see from the benchmark you needed a vry good CPU to make it work at a reasonable level...that game was the reason the FX-8320 i had (which is WORLDS faster than OP's dual core APU) trown out the window...his CPU is basicaly the worst of the worst...bottom of the stack CPU...far from recommended for modern games.

I agree, but he could use it temporary until he gets a better one, the only question is what other games does he play?

Something like a Cryorig H7 or the ubiquitous 212 EVO could probably handle it, but again, instead of spending $90 on an ancient CPU and $30 on a cooler, wait a little bit longer and spend $60 on a motherboard and $110 on a much newer, much better CPU.

i manage to get wd on medium at a playable 20fps

gta v online medium/high around 30

bo3 at medium 50ish

garrys mod( lets be honest lags on every machine million dollar or 300) at like 45, 20 on large server spawns

in no games...even at 4K...will that CPU be able to handle the GTX 1060...nowhere near...in every game from 2010 and up this CPU will be a great limitation...a great cause for massive stuttering, abysmal performance and unplayable framerates...it's very very poor...look at benchmarks it's horrible...sorry to be the bearer of bad news...i'm not bashing on it and i'm very sad for him that he has no money to upgrade that CPU...honestly...but i think he should have went with a much cheaper GPU in order to afford a platform upgrade to AT LEAST an intel i3-6100 which is WORLDS faster than that APU (i know you know all this already i remember you we argued about some stuff a while back and i know you are aware that this CPU is in no way shape or form meant to render modern games with a modern GPU of the GTX 1060 caliber which is about on par with a GTX 980 in case you missed the reviews)

the cpus in my spreadsheet 2nd page i have found for under 100.  the athlon x4 880k has a stock of 4ghz, would that be a better solution than a cheap cpu and a good cooler

What GPU? Are you using the iGPU? If you got a dGPU then a 880K may help! (will probably be 30+ FPS then along with a RX 460 or 470)

the athlon 860K is a cheap quad-core that is a direct drop-in to your motherboard and would greatly improve your gaming experience...but that is also weak for a GTX 1060.

you have to understand the GTX 1060 is quite a powerful graphics card meant to render games at 1080p ultra settings 60FPS+ all day long...you would need a CPU to match which would be something more in the line of the i5-6500 for example which would command a new board and DDR4 RAM...or an H97 board with an i5-4460 and re-use your ram would be your other cheaper option.

i only have a 1080p moniter if that makes a difference... not looking for crazy 4k or anything. maybe on better running games ill render in maybe 1440. and also i was going to get a new cpu, im not stuck with the 7400k

I think 860K/880K with a cheaper GPU may be the only affordable option here...   (RX 460 or 470 maybe?)

i think i forgot to mention that im not using the onboard graphics.  Im using a dedicated Radeon HD7850 XFX DD Black Edition.

@greenwolf24 do you already have the GTX 1060? is it to late to maybe look at cheaper graphics hardware to allow more money for a platform upgrade?

if so...what would be your budget for these upgrades?

Then all you need is a 880K unless you got the budget for a i5+mobo? (880K may need BIOS update...)
