Returning something to Amazon??

Long story short: I goofed and bought the wrong thing. I realized my mistake a few days later so I bought the right thing. I couldn't cancel my original incorrect order because it had already been shipped. I decided to do a return and use the amazon dropoff locker since that is free.

When I do the return, it isn't letting me choose the amazon locker as an option. I can drop off the package at UPS for an $8.19 fee. The total cost of the order was $17 and change, so that's damn near a 50% fee just to return it. I'm not doing that! The item was sold by Amazon and prime eligible, not an affiliate. The item is very small (2 80mm case fans) so it should be a small enough package to fit in a locker.

Anyone know why I'm not getting the option?

I'd just email customer support. Amazon is pretty good at getting this stuff sorted out, and may just give you a return label.

Thanks. Yes I just did that and they are going to give me a return label for free. It's strange. Last time I literally broke something being stupid and was able to return it for full refund for free. This time I'm sending back something I'm not even going to open and it's a hassle! Karma coming back around I suppose.

The amazon locker thing is great. I'm just not understanding why it's not always an option for returns! The case fans I'm returning definitely fit the required dimensions.
