Hi! Umm... I watched the videos of Linus with regards to making a 4k gaming pc. But since then he haven't uploaded an updated guide because new parts are coming out which also spits the same specs like what Linus' videos did. Any advice from you guys?

Hi, welcome to the forums. Please use complete sentences for best results!

If I am understanding correctly, you would like some assistance with putting together a new build capable of 4k gaming?

When in doubt, re-format.

About $1k to $2k, I'm planning on building it slowly because I'm just a student.
Btw I'm from Philippines so you might find it ridiculous that I gave a price range for my budget because hardware pieces here are offered at a different rate.

Um. Yes actually

This was  made in the wrong section then, there is a whole build planning section on the forum.

Whenever you ask for help choosing parts, please list off these things at the least:

1: Location (what country you live in so that we can know which stores/currency to use)

2: Budget (for obvious reasons)

3: Purpose of computer (4k gaming, got it)

4: Do you already own any components (PSU, Case, monitor, Windows license, etc)

5: Any additional relevant info (ie. you want a quiet build, plans for overclocking, computer will run 24/7, etc)

Hope that you find what you are looking for and happy building!

When in doubt, re-format.

well, a true 4k gaming rig needs some pretty heft hardware to run current games at 60 fps. to give you an idea of what I mean, here is a build that should be able to hit that mark.

I also used conservative costs on the motherboard and PSU.  You could probably get away with a single 1080 if you wanted, but then you're not going to be getting 60 fps at ultra settings in most of your games. You would have to play at a lower graphical setting or at lower fps if you had only one GTX 1080
