So sometimes, about every 2 weeks or so, I get a vac authentication error. Using a newly built machine, no hacks, no porn, no sketch downloads, no dlls, no third party virus softwares or firewalls, nothing from the "do not run these programs in background of steam" list. Sometimes it happens in comp, maybe in casual, its a pain and the only way to fix is to reinstall cs go.

recently i determined that the error is caused by the cs go folder having an extra file somewhere causing the error which was written to sometime during game. I determined this because I anticipated the error and had a backup cs go folder on a seperate drive. The backup runs, so i got back in and won the game. I tried to copy the backup into the c drive's bad copy and it wouldnt run, which makes me believe there's an extra file somewhere that didnt used to exist. Anyone with a fix? Steam support says its a background service and I should turn them all off like an idiot, which I can assure you had nothing to do with problem at hand, just a lazy customer support.

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?
