so my budget is around $1000 CAD and i will mainly be gaming  with some very light video editing

the OS will most likely be taken from r/microsoft hardware swap

the video card will be the rx 480 and i want it to be black themed

Im not so sure about the cpu because the i5 6600 can turbo to almost 4.0 ghz (3.9 ghz to be exact) and that was what i was going to OC the 6600k to. I'm very new to OC'ing so i may just sitck with that and a cheaper motherboard

also what parts do you think i could get used(to save money)

also i plan to buy this around black friday/christmas time  to reduce costs

if oc is not a huge must for you saving some money on the cpu/mobo combo is a good choice (plus you can save the money for the cpu cooler). use the money to get 2 stick of RAM maybe, and make sure your corsair CXM psu is grey sticker not green.

For used part, maybe the case can be bought cheap. you can try to find some CPUs as well, they generally won't break, but doubt if theres a lot skylake out there. Also the keyboard, i dont know if you are keen on mechanical keyboard, but you can save a huge amount to buy a cheap one. I suggest you to do that. I believe in CAD, the 480 will be around 350-400 dollars so ya, you need to make some sacrifice here and there.

actually the lowest will be $320 to $400 most likely also i will most likely be buying everything on sale  so this is just a rough estimation

i included a cpu cooler because it helps with the longetivity of the cpu

There shouldn't be a big temp difference between using aftermarket cooler vs stock. plus you live in Canda. Come on man, 6 month of winter unless you are in Vancouver. LOL. But its ur call. I have one for my non k cpu as well, but I wasnt really experienced when i build mine.

Is there any reason to choose the Q170 chipset? Otherwise, a H170 chipset or B150 is enough. Plus do you care abt form factor? I saw you choose a mATX board but a mid tower case.

Do you need wifi? if yes, itx might not be in the budget. you can hunt around tho. Other than tat, its looks solid.

no i use ethrenet

it simply is more reliable for gaming

edit: also if prices go down significantly for christmas/boxing day

i might be able to squeeze in the kb and mouse + a controller(really need one for some games)
