CPU Bottleneck in BF4

I've tried playing the Beta, and I know it's not optimized, but I only get 15 average FPS on an empty server.

I have a 7870 Ghz Edition and a i3-3220.

BF4 recommends a quad-core CPU and a 7870 and I'm worried I won't even be able to play BF4.

 

So, can I run it? (Meaning I'll buy it) Or wait until benchmarks come out, and decide then?

I'ld say that may be bare minimum cpu for it. wait for the final release, beta is hella unoptimized

Yeah, of course. And I get about 50-80 FPS on Auto Settings

Yeah wait and see what it's like is the best bet.

 

And tbh I haven't a clue. I sold a 5800k and a halfway decent motherboard for $175 or so not long ago and that's similar price range if that's anything to go off?

If you haven't yet, update graphics drivers to the beta ones, also what operating system are you on? People have seen tangible performance increases from going to Windows 8 from Windows 7 or previous. Your CPU is still probably at the low end of what is needed to run the game well. Other then that I would try turning down the resolution a bit. If it still doesn't help then an upgrade would be needed.

I'm pretty sure I've updated my drives but i'll do it again. I'm running 64-bit Win7 Ultimate. I'll try 720p

and the auto is high/ultra ? well then wait for release couse we all have problems with the beta. 

 

 

yeah i know about that windows 8 boost too. a known gamer Clayman90 said that going from w7 to 8.1 he gained like 30 FPS in bf4. thats huge . something ain`t right man. lets wait for release

i have a 2500k@4.5 and a 7870@1100 game is running fine sudden random frame drops to like 2 fps for a few seconds are just down to the fact its optimized i'm running fine at auto settings, 1080p.

BF4 is one of those games that actually requires a decent CPU so I am afraid the CPU is what really holds you back

 

Maybe sell it and get something like a 4570K or 4670K?

What? I updated my drivers again and now it works. I get about 40 FPS on an empty server! I will still probably upgrade to a 3570K tho.
