Best Budget SSD?

Go to solution Solved by mikeeginger,

You would not notice the difference

But I would go with the 250 samsung - Dont know about PNY SSD quality

I'm building a computer for a friend and the more money I can save, the more I make. So I want to add an SSD to the system as a boot drive/some storage and I am probably going with a 200GB+ drive so he won't run out of storage space. Now, I have selected a few different options:

240GB PNY SSD for $64

or

250GB Samsung SSD for $75

Is it really worth getting the better quality SSD or will he not notice a performance difference with the PNY?

For 10 dollars, it seems worth it, mostly for quality and software. All I use are Samsung drives because they are some of the best.

If you can get it that cheaply get that. Normally I'd recommend the OCZ Trion 150 for a budget SSD. I have the 850 Evo and its great. If you use RAPID mode it uses the ram to get speeds of 2000+mbs. YES 2000, opposed to normal 400~mbs

My System:

Intel Core i5-4690k  / Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Asus Z97-AR MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 100me Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz 2x4GB DDR3 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD / NZXT S340 EVGA SuperNOVA G1 650W / Windows 10 Home 64 / AOC G2460PQU 1080p 144hz / Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Razer Taipan Laser Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014

My Laptop (Asus X55C-DS31):

Intel Core i3-2370M @ 2.4Ghz 6GB RAM / OCZ ARC100 240GB SSD /

My Phone:

OnePlus Three Graphite Black / 64GB

My Watch:
