I am doing something wrong... but what?

Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

only way to do it when presenting is using a LAV mic or SHOTGUN mic out of frame

So, bit of an explanation to get my issue across.

I want to get into recording while gaming and videos. I aquired a t.bone SC440 which I hooked up no problem.
However, when I record, be it myself while gaming or for a video, I always get a lot of backlashes (kinda hard to explain, like an echo or too much bass).
I tried a Logitech G35 from a friend which works perfectly fine. If I lay it on my table and record the same issue occurs.
I also tried a blue snowball Ice but same issue.

Now, when I position either microphone reeeeally close to my mouth (like 2 fingers away max.) all three produce equally clear recording.

However, that is too close for comfortable gaming. Recording is fine but any commentary or presentation is not.

How can i fix that, or is that something that can only be achieved by high quality ( thus, priced) microphones with an amp

The microphone is supposed to be used close to your mouth. This is the case with almost every microphone out there, even higher end ones using an AMP.

Thank you for your quick replies.

Now, shotgun mic is probably the answer to what is wrong in my expectation.
So easiest way is to really get a good headset for gaming and use the mic for pre done recordings.

Thanks a lot, I thought it was something like that. :)

Do you happen to know any good headset around 50€ price range? (same in $)?
One with equall audio quality to recording quality as well or any other solution for the gaming part?
