I know the game has a bad rap for its poor performance and being a windows store exclusive, but i spent the past week seeing past all of that and getting into whether this game is actually good. now that i'm pretty much towards the end of the story mode, it's a good storytelling experience. the game also has a show attached to it, and actually changes based on the choices you make as you play.

not really a total copy-paste. the time powers Jack (the guy you play as the majority of the time) can use is actually pretty fun. so it doesn't make it a cover shooter. you have to move around, and some of the gunfights can get pretty tense. fortunately the difficulty is pretty linear too, introducing enemy archetypes that require a bit more effort with your time powers. interestingly enough the game doesn't go haywire with the difficulty either once you reach the final Act, barring one particular fight that was stupid from the get-go.

there are some issues with the combat, though. like you can't actually melee anybody unless you time rush (slows down time, allowing you to move around normally and perform one-hit kills on certain enemies) or time dodge towards an enemy. so if someone gets close - and it happens quite often - you'll need to be fast to aim and shoot. another bit is that you can't play stealthily. you have to kill everyone to move on to the next area. and it doesn't really look very realistic that Jack is wearing casual clothes whilst fighting heavyweights

lots of narrative backstories as well, in the form of emails, documents, radio, etc. you could probably spend a lot of time reading/listening to those, if it weren't for the nagging NPCs to help you with the door. speaking of NPCs, you can have optional conversations with them. but those can be easily missed, which is pretty annoying.

I played it. Fun game; interesting concept. Amazing story. It's not perfect. The TV show was choppy so I just watched it on youtube. And I had a problem killing those heavily armored guys. That is until I figured out you just turn on aim assist and then you can reliably hit them every time. But definitely one of the better games I've played recently. Oh, and I have some complaints about the ending but I'm not sure if you got there yet.

yeah, the game loading the tv show was very choppy. another caveat the devs could have ironed out

i just beat the game the other day. also have some issues with the ending.
