help on amp vs amp+dac

hi

i am new to online gaming and bought sennheiser game one's and i have only used them on ps4 so far ,but the volume is to low.

 

i will mainly be using these on the PS4 but i f might also use them on the pc soon.

 

my question is :

 

do i need an amp with a dac ?

. i found one with a dac but it isnt as loud as the one without and i have no idea how much loudness is gained by either or the quality sound of either.

 

which one should i get out of these ? (or any suggestions)

 

Fiio E17 Alpen 2 (dac)

Bravo Ocean (no dac) but i heard its more powerful ,but to what degree and is the extra power needed for sennheiser game ones...?

You need an amp if your PC cannot power them properly. You probably have a good enough DAC but if you can splurge then the DAC+Amp combo unit, the Micca Origen, is good and should work fine.

thanks for your response . the Micca Origen from what i can tell only has usb input . i need one with 3.5mm input and output to be compatible with the ps4. i not positive though thats just what i heard it has something to do with how the mic and headphone jack being a single 3.5mm ouput the ps4 controller.
