I was wondering if you kind folks could give me some ideas concerning cases. I have done plenty of builds both professionally and for personal use. I have always used the sleek and/or understated look for my builds but this one has to be a little different. This build is for a customer who has requested a case that looks "aggressive". He is only 20 years old (I'm and old timer) and I get the feeling that a lot of the folks here are younger. So I figured that between the love we have for Linus and fact that there are so many knowledgeable PC enthusiasts, this would be a good place to get some cool ideas.

Here are the requirements:

The case must be under $150.00 U.S. (I don't think it will take that much but this is the upper limit.)

Must have room for water cooling (I currently plan in using an H100i).

Needs to look "aggressive" (for whatever that means)

I'm going with a red and black theme so if the case comes in that color then great but this is not mandatory.

So I am open to all of you ideas and if you read this and respond I thank you for taking time out of your life to assist with my silly request.

NZXT's Phantom cases. You either love them or you hate them.

Fractal Design looks 'aggressive' to me.

OH I love the Fractal cases. That is the one I was going to use originally. In your opinion do you think a Fractal R4 with a custom paint design would fit the bill?

C70, HAF series or Storm series

I'm not sure what you mean but C70 (my bad sorry). I like the HAF series ok but how are they to work with? Have you done a build with one before? Also I gotta say you are right with the Storm series. That looks like a beast.

I would get the Arc Midi R2 with quiet components instead.

He/she meant the Corsair C70. The HAF series by Cooler Master are amazing cases. They provide tremendous airflow and are a breeze to work in, in fact most of Cooler Master's 'gaming' cases are very easy to build in.

The C70 is a case from Corsair. The HAF series are meh, the quality isn't that amazing and the style is weird, dust filters also suck on it. I don't think any Fractal case will be good for an "aggressive" build.

Corsair C70, they are good, nice big 200MM fans to move lots of air and not to loud

Custom paint can cost a lot.

I'd suggest the Cooler Master HAF series as well. I own both a HAF 932 and 912 - no real complaints; lots of space, great cooling options, nice build quality. The only minor disappointment is the lack of 140mm fan mounts at the top (only 200mm or 3x 120mm)...which won't work with newer, larger water-cooling radiators. BUT considering the HAF series is a few years old (almost due for an update), fair enough.

Second choice is Corsair's line-up of cases.

NZXT cases are also pretty good, but not many people like the plastic...too much to metal ratio...
