Hey everyone. I'm new to Android.

Please could anyone advise mne of what I should now do to customise my Nexus 7 2013

1. Direct links to any good ROM'S

2. Any good themes

3. Best custom keyboards?

4. Any way to change system sounds?

FYI, I've not migrated from iOS, rather, I will be using both OS's to suit my daily needs

1. http://www.addictivetips.com/android/install-paranoid-android-rom-on-new-nexus-7-2013/ Paranoid Android (you'll get multiple answers here. Many people have their own favourites to their custom ROMs)

2. Watch videos on youtube on themeing the nexus 7. Everyone has their own taste.

3. Swiftkey

4. Yes, edit using root on ES File explorer. Go to System-Media-Audio.

1 are you asking for video game roms? or android roms

4 you should be able to change some sounds in the settings menu under sounds. I have never used a nexus so i don't know if their menu options are different

Android ROMs. I don't play video game ROMs because I can play on the real thing. I have like almost all retro games consoles (NES, SNES, ALL GAMEBOYS, ALL SEGAS, ALL PS2s including rares etc etc)

Don't install custom ROM's, pure android is much better in my opinion, and especially if you come from IOS

Don't use themes, use widgets, change your wallpaper, try live wallpapers, find ones you like, find apps you like, make your home screen the way you like it, whether that's having a messaging widget or a weather widget or a Music / Gmail widget next to shortcuts to your favorite apps, just. Do it.

Emm, I actually love the stock android keyboard, you can try others if you want, Swiftkey is popular.

Yes, go into settings and sounds, most audio players will also allow you to select any mp3 as your ringtone and so on...

Also, what makes CyanogenMod better than stock Android?

CyanogenMod has be around for quite some time, so they have a huge following. It doesn't make them better, but they do have lots of support for many phones. General rule of thumb, Cyanogen for stability, AOKP for features. PA for awesome things non-android (such as their new Halo, and old PIE layout)

You have point. When I first got my Galaxy Nexus, Dec of last year, I thought the same. BUT, knowing how the layout of any custom ROM is pretty much the same as pure android, I don't see why it would matter. If @solosdk doesn't wanna deal with bugs, he should just download the Release Candidates or Milestones of the ROM and it should be fine.
