New GPU???

So my birthday is coming up and I thought id ask for a GPU. I was thinking the RX 480 (Because of the VR stuff, and its pretty cheap) as a replacement for my 270X (Which I would keep in my system for folding or something.). What card should I as for? (I could maybe get away with $250 for one right now).

Side note, are there any aftermarket RX 480's yet?

yeah, around same performance as a 980 for 249 msrp is a great deal, i would expect to wait a little bit until there is more available than just the founders card. 

 

Also i read somewhere they are going to release a 3gb version of the 1060 for 149 dollars

I just read it will be $200 but thats probably the founders edition. Ill probably get a EVGA (6Gb) one. You think it will be out around August?

FE 1060 will be 300$

some time in late july or in august i would expect the customer cooler cards to be out yeah

I mean if the 480 can do VR and the 1060 is better than the 480 then VR is a question. I don't plan on getting a VR headset for a while, but I know someone who has a Vive that I might borrow

Wouldn't really be taking advantage of them. They just have one without a system to run it, and i have a system to run it without a headset
