Threats trough Facebook...?

Sup all, so lets say i had a query with "old friends" of mine today, which notably spoke poorly of me while i was asleep at 2:25 am, because theyr a-holes, simply because one of them was spamming and i blocked him on my phone, like lol. I totally made a wall of text at them, in the group before leaving, blocked all of them but one, because he either didnt do it to me or because i forgot. He came back, started "you shouldnt threaten people, which i didnt anyway, and blah blah threatening me with hes verbal sad violence and physical ingenuity". Anyways, i blocked him aswell and i know the guy in person. You guys think i should report this fool to the authorities? I definetly wont talk to these guys anymore and surely the block ended peacefully, with him saying "Stay Well" and i "Likewise", but i wanted to know your opinion. Im not afraid of him, but there could be potential illegal activities, coming from him in the future. When they were somewhat "friendly", they told me he was big talk, no bark, so what you think? Authorities, since thats what Facebook says about threatening, kick his arse if i see him (:p) or just let it pass by?

I personally wouldn't take it seriously. People often say crap to try and get a rise out of you, because it makes them feel better or because they're angry and want to scare you; however, I wouldn't be above reporting it to the police. You know, they will take the threats seriously and whoever is doing that can end up facing charges.

 

I'd say report it to the police if it continues or you seriously think they'll act on the threats. It might be a safe bet to report it anyways.

 

Since you suggested "kicking their arses" I'm going to go ahead and say don't do that. They might end up turning around and having you arrested for assault, but if they do that to you, well you've got proof.

I mean, you might be new to this Internet thing. There's regular death wishes like "kill yourself" or other homophobic slurs, or stuff like "drink bleach" or "end your life", so it is kind of a regular thing these days. As sad or serious it might be, your case doesn't seem that bad. If you are personally thinking more of it, do take measures, but I seriously doubt it's anything major tbh.

Alright guys, i supose i should leave it be for now, but ill keep the conversation if ever needed, for evidence purposes. The only reason ive even taken this serious, is because i might see the person in real life, even so, he knows there are laws and hes not a criminal by any means. Besides, its never like in the movies or tv shows :p.

Darn right it isn't like movies or tv shows. If it were I'd be living it up in a cube somewhere in deep space, perfecting my cybernetics so i could one day return to earth and advance us out of this age of hatred; and into the bor- I mean, future.

 

As others have said, don't think too much about it. Keep the screenshots and convo for ease and mind and just let it go. Considering if you did end things off with the other guys that easily, then there's most likely nothing to worry about.
