lol, I haven't observed anything like that at all, the cooler is solid. He is probably over exaggerating and he wants you to get something that he likes better, it is common for me for some of my friends to say for example: "OH don't buy that piece of crap! Buy a *insert brand that he likes better here* ". Usually they haven't had hands on experience with the said product and they are judging by the brand.
