I got a new AMD FX 8120 cpu that I have OC'd from 3.1Ghz to 4.3Ghz.
The problem is that with my current CM V6 cooler the temps are exceeding 60 degrees centigrade/celsius which is resulting in massive core throttling.

What is a good replacement cooler that will work for my current setup.
I can fit just about any cooler in my case as I have the HAF 932 case.

Hello!

Have you thought about going for some kind of water-cooling? Maybe something like the Corsair H60?

I guess it all depends on your budget.

Motherboard: MSI X99A Sli Plus,       RAM: Corsair CMK32GX4M4A2400C14 Vengeance LPX (32GB),
CPU: Intel i7-5820K,      GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960,       PSU: Corsair Gaming Series GS600,
HDDs: 2x Toshiba P300 1TB 64MB 7200RPM,      SSD: Crucial BX200 240GB
All inside a Corsair Carbide 300R with a Corsair CW-9060007-WW Hydro Series H60.

Have a good day everyone!

It's not out of the question to go for liquid cooling.
The main reason not too, however, is because closed loop coolers don't offer a much better cooling compared to cheaper air cooling options, and then there's the noise from the pump. Fans I can replace once they start getting noisy after a year or so.
The other alternative is to go for a custom loop, but that is going to be too expensive, and good parts are hard to come by in South Africa.

I would get a Cryorig H5 Ultimate if you want a good and cheap air cooler.

Throttling at 60? That can't be right. Up to 85 is safe, and your CPU should first start throttling at around 100.

It runs perfectly up till about 65 then throttles 6 of my 8 cores to less than half the speed, about 1.3Ghz and proceeds to keep it there.

No, this is a 8120. Different cpus have different tolerances for temps and what you're mentioning is for something else.

I've never heard of a CPU that can't handle 60C.

The 8120's safe operating temperature goes up to ~60c and throttles around ~70c.

Depending on whether or not the OP is referring to the socket temp, the core temp may be higher and be throttling.

Will see if I can get my hands on one this side of the planet. Thanks for the suggestion.

I own and love the H5 Ultimate, but I'd give consideration to a 240mm/280mm AIO instead in your situation.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Core temp was pushing 80c. Did another test last night just to check.
CPU Temp runs to 65c with core temp of around 80c before it starts throttling.
I played around with the settings in my bios. Dropped the CPU voltage from 1.45 to 1.375 and it seems to run much better.
Throttling is now only around 5% instead of >50%.

So now I am going to rather replace my now dead 2tb before getting a new cooler.
Thanks for all the recommendations however people.
