but on my new pc it only works on the usb 3.0 ports and not on any other usb 2.0 ports the light turns red which indicate its not getting enough power

the thing is i only have two  usb 3.0 ports and they are in the back of my case and its pretty difficult as the dvd rom cables are short so i bought http://prntscr.com/1vctz5'

Enable Legacy mode in the BIOS for USB 3 and it will allow USB 2 devices to work with the ports. If there is no option in the BIOS then your motherboard may not be able to use USB 2 devices with USB 3 ports, though 9 out of 10 devices should have no issues.

Codename: Project Stealth. See profile for specs.
