So my SSD had windows on it and I wanted to reinstall windows on it because it had screwed up in an update and deleted windows.exe (yes yes it did) At first it wasn't letting me because the drive was partitioned so I unpartitioned it and it said unallocated space but still didn't work, what should I do?

PS I'm doing for a USB not the CD.

SSD is a PNY 480 GB

well you should have secure erase instead of format. anywas.

"First, you want to make sure you have the latest UEFI/BIOS for your motherboard. If using a desktop, try another SATA port. If the UEFI/BIOS has the AHCI option, try disabling to see if it helps. If none of these work, contact PNY Tech Support who will do their best to assist you." https://www.pny.com/support/technical-support/solid-state-drives/faqs

Try enabling AHCI in the BIOS if you haven't.

You can try formatting the disk using Diskpart through command prompt.

In Windows setup, press Shift+f10

Type Diskpart, then enter

Type list disk, then enter

You should notice your 480gb ssd

Type select disk (Disk number) ex. select disk 1

then type clean and enter.

try a low-level format on another computer, the file system might be corrected and the installer doesn't see it, on another windows if you see RAW on the drive that might mean that the controler for the flash chips are dead, if that is the case then get a new SSD

****SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE*****

Been married to my wife for 3 years now! Yay!
